Mainnet Beta is Live

Hypr Network, a Layer 2 blockchain built on Ethereum, is set to reach a significant milestone with the launch of its Mainnet Beta. In a landscape where Layer 2 solutions are flourishing, Hypr distinguishes itself by focusing on a highly specialized niche, catering specifically to the gaming and gambling verticals.

For many, the difference between Testnet and Mainnet Beta is confusing.

Think of a car being tested in the factory. Once all tests are completed and the car passes, then the next stage is to take the car outside of the factory and test it on the road under real conditions, in all types of weather.

In a similar vein, Hypr Mainnet Beta is in many ways Testnet, but now developers can jump on and build and deploy apps and even start testing these apps with users. That's the stage we're at today.

How Hypr Meets The Needs of Game Developers

Recognizing the critical role of network latency and cost in user experience, Hypr has optimized its blockchain for game developers. With sub-1-second block times and one of the lowest gas prices in the industry, Hypr stands as one of the fastest and most affordable chains in the blockchain arena. This ensures that game developers can create responsive and engaging experiences without compromising on speed or costing players a fortune just to play.

Not in this article, but we will do a deep-dive on the unique SDK's we have that are enhanced with zero knowledge; that means ZK in our SDK's enable a set of features that are actually very hard to build on their own. For example, developers don't need to build their ZK circuit to enable a feature like privacy in their game; instead, they just use one of our plug-and-play SDK's.

Vision and Preliminary Roadmap

Our vision is for Hypr to become a top gaming chain, with purpose-built SDK's that meets the needs of game developers. We want game developers to choose Hypr; are happy building on Hypr, with users that are also happy and having fun. For any vision to come true, it needs a plan and a roadmap. This preliminary roadmap is our road to achieving that vision.

At the fair launch 25 days ago, we shared the three stages of our roadmap: 

1. Preflight [we are here]
2. Takeoff
3. Climb-Cruise-Climb

We're not completely ready to share details just yet, but we can say that we are still early. But we want to reassure the community that we have a plan and our plan is coordinated, integrated, and holistic.

When we think of our roadmap, it includes infrastructure, marketing, business development, and community. If we are only product-focused, then other areas will suffer. If we are only marketing focused, then other areas will suffer. So we have committed to take a coordinated, integrated, and holistic approach to building Hypr.

Below is an example of the roadmap we are building. Note that most items are [redacted] because we are not yet ready to share in detail. But we want the community to know how we are thinking, our plan for growing Hypr, and our marching orders to get there together.
